About the Club

Hallo there. Welcome to the Broomhill Badminton Club website. Firstly a bit of background.  The club has been in existence for over 10 years. Initially based in Broomhill, the club has been resident at the Cockburn Centre for over 8 years, which may suggest a name change. The club is affiliated to the Scottish Badminton Union and members can book courts at the Cockburn outwith the club if so desired. Membership cards with membership number are supplied.

We meet on Monday nights from 8.30 till 10.30. As a club we try to play throughout the year and maintain a regular Monday night fixture. Club closures are notified in advance and are infrequent. If required through lack of numbers we will reduce court capacity initially before cancellation. This also reduces unnecessary expenditure for members. Depending upon numbers we play doubles or mixed doubles on a steady rotation to vary the play and hopefully increase enjoyment of the game.

Club membership is currently at 12. This enables us to supply shuttles and maintain two courts, which reduces sit-off time. Membership can be flexible in terms of instalments over the year or alternatively on a nightly basis. Registration fees to the Scottish Badminton Union are paid annually through membership subscription.

In order for the club to continue we are looking for new members to join us on Monday nights. An understanding of the game and own equipment is preferred. Our members cover a range of abilities and we welcome anyone who is genuinely interested in the game. As a club we also enjoy social nights out to ten-pin bowling and for eating out.
